About Us

Nearly 500 years of hunting history

The West Norfolk Hunt was born in the early 16th century, with records documenting the first pack of hounds kept at Hunstanton Hall in 1534. For hundreds of years, the tradition of hunting continued with little change until the introduction of the Hunting Act 2005, from when the sport of trail hunting was developed.

West Norfolk Hunt

The West Norfolk Hunt maintains a pack of hounds and a team of horses at our kennels, all looked after by full time professional staff. Twice a week, we head to all corners of Norfolk to provide mounted and foot followers with a day of trail hunting fun. During these days a scent is laid across varying country in order for the hounds to follow. Hot on the heels of the hounds are our mounted Field (riders on their horses).
